Kellogg's Goes Organic PDF Print E-mail

Kellogg Co. is making a plea for the healthy consumer.  Last week they announced the launch of three protein-fortified products within their Special K line, in addition to a move they are making into the organic market.  Officially, they notified the press that their new Keebler Toasteds Organic Harvest Wheat crackers will be hitting store shelves.  However, this week's store promotions brought another pleasant surprise, Kellogg's has in fact taken a few more products organic...

Kellogg's has also released a line of organic cereals.  Check your grocery advertisements quickly.  If you live in an area among the chosen few, you might discover that not only is your local store carrying these new cereals, but they are also on sale for an incredible price!  In Southern California this week, Von's (otherwise known as Safeway), has Kellogg's Organic Rice Krispies, Rasin Bran, and Frosted Mini Wheats each on sale for only $1.88 a box.

Why would a dairy free site be so interested in Organics?  For two reasons really.  One is that our mission isn't just dairy free, it is also a healthy and natural diet.  This means, we like to purchase and encourage organic products whenever possible.  The other reason is that organic products are notoriously dairy free.  The majority (but not all) of the organic products that we have uncovered are completely free of milk ingredients.  Why is this?  We can not say for sure, but one of the reasons is likely the large price tag on organic milk.  It simply may not be cost effective.  Regardless of the reason, these Kellogg's cereals are no exception.  Organic, dairy free, fortified, and possibly even vegan (check the label and let us know), there isn't much more we can ask for in a breakfast cereal.
