Special Dieters Remove the Restaurant Road Block PDF Print E-mail
Summer is here and millions of Americans are hitting the road in search of sunny beaches, mountain hideaways, and family reunions.  Travel translates into many meals out, a great joy for some, but often a challenge for those individuals and families striving to follow a healthy or special diet.  Luckily, they are not alone.  Several diet and allergen conscious authors have conquered dining out with style, and are now putting pen to paper to share the secrets they have uncovered.  Two recently released books grabbed our attention in particular…

Nikki and David Goldbeck have developed a must have for any long distance driver, “Healthy Highways: The Traveler's Guide to Healthy Eating.”  Readers nationwide are motoring with satisfied stomachs thanks to the many insights, tips, and recommended destinations provided by the Goldbecks.

Healthy Highways does an excellent job of addressing the search for good quality food from organic to vegetarian.  However, Kim Koeller and Robert La France are the true lifesavers of the allergic and intolerant with their special guide book “Let's Eat Out! Your Passport to Living Gluten and Allergy Free.”  Let’s Eat Out  is the first book series dedicated exclusively to eating outside of the home while managing food allergens.  They address all of the primary culprits of allergen and intolerance, including: dairy, corn, eggs, fish, gluten, peanuts, shellfish, soy, tree nuts and wheat.

Travel and restaurants are back on limits to both health conscious consumers and allergen sufferers!
