NIH Recommendations for Food Allergy Research PDF Print E-mail

NIH, June 2007 – On June 5, the National Institute of Health (NIH) released the Report from the NIH Panel on Food Allergy Research.  At the request of Congress, this Panel of national and international food allergy experts convened in March 2006.  Their report prioritized a list of recommendations that called for clinical trials to evaluate new approaches to food allergy prevention and treatment; the investigation of probably food allergy causes; preclinical studies on allergen structure; and a look into the feasibility of an international registry for food allergic reactions to facilitate the design of clinical studies.
