Karen Blue, Avoiding Milk Protein - Making clothes out of milk fiber for those avoiding allergic reactions to milk raises fears.  Supporters claim milk fabric is a renewable resource that biodegrades and offers a nice light weight fabric.  Entering the marketplace more eco friendly fabrics made from soy and corn, also causing concerns for the allergic...

University of Virginia found the milk proteins in these fabrics to be allergenic.  The proteins can be absorbed with perspiration when worn, causing reactions for highly sensitive people. 

Cyran Textile Company produces milk fiber for companies like Piscotta Cashmere, used  for making clothes.  Soysilk makes yarn from soy, milk corn and more allergens.

So far clothing made from milk is expensive so it has a limited market however a handful of companies are experimenting with this fabric.
