Aplegate Farms is recalling 16-oz. packages of “The Great Organic Uncured Hot Dog” and “Stadium Organic Uncured Beef Hot Dogs” due to undeclared milk and soy.  The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for approximately 8,784 pounds of the hot dog products because they may contain non-fat dry milk and soy, which are not declared on the label ...

This public health alert was initiated after a consumer complaint of an allergic reaction was investigated by FSIS and Applegate Farms confirmed that the products were mislabeled.

The products were distributed to retail establishments nationwide, and the recalled packages bear the establishment number “Est. 9574” inside the USDA mark of inspection and a “use by” or “freeze by” date of “JAN 15 08.”

Based on product shelf life, these products would no longer have been sold in grocery stores after January 15, 2008. However, there may be some of the product in consumers' freezers.
