It’s a celebration of every aspect of being vegan and the largest vegan event anywhere in the world today. The Bristol Vegan Fayre is now growing into something big, so big, in fact, that the organisers, YAOH, now need to run it across two days. This unique event runs from Saturday May 31st until Sunday June 1st, from 11am to 9pm. The Fayre, which caters for all ages and tastes, was attended by over 9,000 people last year and is proving very successful. It has a superb location by the Waterside, in the heart of Bristol in the U.K. ...
There is an excellent line up of entertainment, with many different cultures being represented through food, music, 60 talks, cookery demos, as well as a wide range of stalls. There you’ll be able to sample a wealth of vegan delights, such as vegan trifle, cakes, pizzas, quiche, muffins, chocolate, raw food, cheeses and many foods from around the world. Licensed Bars and Juice Bars will also be open all day. New for 2008 is an expanded Living Raw Area with a Raw Food Prep Class zone, as well as a Living Raw Talks Area. And there will also be a ‘Victorian Circus’, with Escapologist David Straitjacket and Contortionist Rubber Ritchie. Entertainment on the Main Stage includes leading Bristol Bands, new bands, and International headliners with DJ’s, and on the Acoustic Stage they’ll be Blues, Folk, Country, Jazz and Opera. This year the organisers, YAOH, are doing a show specials booklet, with many of the 160 stallholders doing half price deals and buy one get one free. The first 250 visitors each day will also receive a free goody bag. Wonderpig, the festival's own cartoon vegan superhero, will also be making an appearance and there will be a fashion show, including ethical and organic options. There will be a Kids Area and entertainers, plus a Hemp ‘Village’ and display. Everyone is welcome, whether they enjoy meat, are trying to reduce meat intake, are vegetarian, dairy intolerant, eat organic, or just want to try something new and maybe find out more about being vegan. So it’s not just vegans who will find something of interest – it’s an all-inclusive show designed to suit everyone, whatever their lifestyle.
