Soy Consumption and Peanut Allergy Connection Debunked PDF Print E-mail

Alisa Fleming, www.GoDairyFree.org ~ A widely published study in 2003 suggested that consumption of soy milk or soy-based formula played a part in the development of peanut allergies in children.  However, researchers from the University of Melbourne have pursued this concept further and found it to be coincidental rather than cause and effect.  In a cohort study that closely followed 620 children, they found that parents with children who were already at an increased risk for peanut allergy, due to a family history of cow’s milk allergy, were simply more likely to give their kids soy as an alternative.  However ... read on for story update ...
