Coconut Bliss ShipmentAlisa Fleming, www.GoDairyFree.org ~ It’s hot out, and you are craving a cool and creamy dessert … but perhaps the options at your local store are limited for you dairy-free or vegan diet.  Or maybe, you want something a little better, a premium non-dairy “ice cream” if you will.  Thanks to special packaging and shipping techniques, several small ice “creameries” are making this a reality.  True, this well chilled shipment comes at a price, but considering the growing number of cross-country ice cream orders, I am assuming at least a few of you out there feel that it is well worth the price.  For you, I can recommend the following luxurious frozen dessert deliveries …

Tomberlies ~ I visited a friend at a local health food store in Nevada and spotted numerous single serve portions of this intriguing raw vegan ice cream.  When I inquired he said the stuff flies off the shelf (or from the freezer in this case); they have trouble just keeping it in stock.  It certainly wasn’t cheap, but it seems price is no object when it comes to this rich blend of young thai cocontut, organic raw cashews, and organic raw agave syrup … available in an enticing array of flavors, including White Chocolate Macadamia Nut.  All Tomberlies products are raw, vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, and made with organic ingredients.

Blackwell’s Organic Gelato ~ Blackwell’s started their Gelato-by-mail program over a year ago (if my memory serves me correctly) and it seems to be going strong.  This highly acclaimed company churns out luscious sorbettos and soy-based gelatos that are vegan, gluten-free, and certified organic and fair trade!

Coconut Bliss ~ Larry & Luna refuse to sit idly by as other coconut-based frozen desserts attempt to invade their territory.  They have begun door to door shipments throughout the United States.  This lush ice cream alternative uses a rich coconut milk base and is also vegan and certified organic.  I have yet to wrap my taste buds around this dessert, but here that it truly is the best.
