Comprehensive Food Allergen Reporting With Menu Software PDF Print E-mail

Sheffield, United Kingdom - Fretwell-Downing Hospitality To LaunchLatest Version of Saffron at Restaurant Show ~ New developments to the Saffron menu planning software, enabling restaurants to check their menus for up to 15 different potential food allergens, will be unveiled at this year’s Restaurant Show (12th-14th October). Catering software specialist, Fretwell-Downing Hospitality (FDH) will be introducing the next generation of the software, offering even greater food allergen reporting alongside the nutritional analysis, menu planning and costing capabilities of Saffron Nutrition ...

Nigel Adams, FDH’s sales executive explains the reasons for the developments: “There is growing interest within the trade to be able to flag up on menus, or steer customers towards those dishes that are ‘free from’ certain potential allergens. Often, it will be a person with a food intolerance or allergy that will be the decision-maker among a group of diners on where to eat, so there can be a wider impact on restaurants.

“This new generation software will be much more user-friendly and comprehensive in its allergen reporting, particularly when you consider that some of those restaurants that have already gone down this route only list up to nine potential allergens. Saffron’s allergen reporting will also include the other foodstuffs that can cause an allergy such as celery, sesame seeds and lupin,* providing greater flexibility for restaurants and food suppliers.

“The enhanced allergen reporting will sit well alongside the other developments we have made to the software, including its ability to nutritionally analyse recipes and report the composition as a series of traffic lights denoting whether a particular nutrient is present in high, medium or low percentages.”

FDH will be showcasing the new developments to Saffron Nutrition on stand H28 during the Restaurant Show.
