Food Allergy Awareness Week Scheduled for May 2010 PDF Print E-mail

13th Annual Food Allergy Awareness Week - 2010The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) has announce the dates of their 13th annual Food Allergy Awareness Week (FAAW). Mark your calendars for May 9th through May 15th, 2010, and try to get your state representatives to do so too.

Since its inception in 1997, three states have come on board to formally recognize FAAW: Alabama, Nebraska, and Washington. Since there is a high probability that your state isn't listed here, FAAN is asking you to request a proclamation from your state governor.

The goal of FAAW is to educate others about food allergies, a potentially life threatening medical condition. This year's theme is to "Respect every Bite." To help spread the word, FAAN has created a lot of literature which is available for free download on their FAAW webpage. The information includes a calendar of suggested activities for the special week, posters, presentation materials, kits for fundraising, and much more.
