Alkemie Founder Demonstrates "Ice Cream" Quality with Product Experiment
So often I hear complaints about how dairy-free and vegan "ice creams" just aren't as fulfilling as "the real thing" ... and this assessment may not be way off base. Recently, it looked as though the new brands of coconut milk-based ice cream might fill that richness void ... but even with their high fat content, it seems these versions may not be as dense as they seem.
The founder of Alkemie Dairy-Free Ice Cream, a cashew-based "ice cream," conducted an at home experiment to discover the actual volume of various vegan ice creams on the market when compared to a truly dense pint of milk-based ice cream. He ran two tests looking at the volume and weight of the vanilla flavors of Organic Rice Divine, So Delicious Made with Coconut Milk Frozen Dessert, Alkemie Dairy-Free Ice Cream, and the gold standard, Ben & Jerry's. The results were quite surprising.
Watch and learn just how much air you may be paying for in the brief video below ... (the experiment begins at about 1 min 40 seconds) ....
