Cybele Pascal Teams Up for New Allergen-Free Cooking Show and Food Allergy Awareness PDF Print E-mail

Eat Freely with Cybele and Enjoy Life FoodsI have been a fan of Cybele Pascal’s since her first cookbook, but since releasing her second book in late 2009, The Allergen-Free Baker’s Handbook, Cybele has taken her presence in the food allergy community to another level. In early September, Cybele and her Broadway star husband, Adam Pascal, joined the ranks of famed chef Ming Tsai and country star Trace Adkins as Ambassadors Who Care for the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN).

As a part of her dedication to the cause, Cybele and her family will be leading “Team LA” in FAAN’s Walk for Food Allergy in Los Angeles on Oct. 24. She also plans to walk in Chicago on Oct. 17th. At both Walks she will also be autographing copies of her latest book.

Keeping partnerships on her agenda, Cybele has also teamed up with Enjoy Life Foods to create a new e-cooking show, Eat Freely with Cybele ...

Eat Freely with Cybele is a cooking show dedicated to supplying allergen-conscious consumers with recipes, tips, and meal ideas to help bring the freedom back into cooking. Each month Eat Freely will post a new cooking segment developed by Cybele Pascal, highlighting the newest allergen-free ingredients, as well as the most current tips and recipes for an allergy-friendly life. The concept is intended to simplify allergy-friendly meals.

The Cooking Show launched in September with Allergy-Friendly Pancakes that are gluten-free and free from the top eight allergens. For October, Allergy-Friendly Fudge is on the menu. All shows are posted to the Eat Freely website with recipes for use and to view at any time.

Cybele was thrust into the food allergy community in 2001 when her oldest son, Lennon, was severe dairy and soy allergies. But the allergies didn’t stop with Lennon. As Cybele says, her family is “a textbook case of food allergies.” Lennon outgrew his dairy and soy allergies, but a host of other food allergies have persisted. Her youngest son must avoid dairy due to allergic asthma, and her husband Adam is allergic to dairy. Not be left out, Cybele in fact has multiple food allergies including walnuts, shellfish, several types of fish, and other milder food allergies.

Fortunately, Cybele doesn’t view allergen-free cooking and baking as a chore. “Cooking ‘Allergen-free Cuisine’ is both a necessity and a passion for me.  I love the science of it, the challenge, and the way it’s all new.”
