Preparing for a Very Dairy-Free Thanksgiving PDF Print E-mail

A very dairy-free ThanksgivingPeople tend to panic around the holidays when following a special diet, but the truth is, creating a dairy-free feast for the entire family is much easier than it might seem. In fact, if you don't tell them, most won't even notice that something is "missing." The compliments, raves, and thank you's will pour in as they would any other time that you serve fantastic food.

To help in preparation, I will be featuring Thanksgiving-friendly Recipes and Posts over the next week and a half, along with some reviews of helpful products mixed in. To get a head start and sneak preview of the many recipes and ideas, see the Dairy-Free Holidays & Entertaining section here on Go Dairy Free. Scroll down just a bit for a list of my most popular Thanksgiving-inspired posts here on Go Dairy Free.

Also, for those of you who have a copy of Go Dairy Free: The Guide and Cookbook, we enjoy the following recipes from it almost every Thanksgiving: Condensed "Cream" of Mushroom Soup (a life saver, on p182), Cheese-free Scalloped Potatoes (creamy, but no cheese alternatives required, on p189), Traditional Mashed Potatoes (easy and timeless, on p192) with Cashew Gravy (a creamier option, on p220), Tender Squash Dinner Rolls (OMG bakery soft goodness, on p157), and Vegan Pumpkin "Cheesecake" (enough said, on p241). If you need these recipes yesterday, and don't have the book yet, you can get the ebook ASAP (PDF, kindle, iPad, etc.) via the links here.

More to come!
