A&WWe don't recommend dining at this establishment if you are seeking milk-free options, but at least you can enjoy the root beer! The beef patty, breaded chicken breast fillet, and marinated chicken breast are made without milk ingredients, but we are unsure if the liquid butter substitute they use for cooking is dairy-free (only the natural and artificial flavors are in question), and their buns do contain milk ingredients. So alas, not much to choose from.

No Dairy (Milk) Ingredients (use caution due to cross-contamination potential):

  • Dipping Sauces - Honey Mustard and BBQ

Milk in A&W Burgers
I was just looking at the A&W ingredients list (in Canada) and every burger they make includes "A&W special seasoning" and "Whey" is an ingredient in the special seasoning. So at least in Canada (I'm not sure about the US), even the burgers listed here and also the hot-dogs contain dairy.

Milk in A&W Burgers
According to their food allergies and sensitivities page (http://www.yum.com/nutrition/allergen/allergen_aw.asp), all of their burgers except for the children's regular hamburger have milk products.

Milk in A&W Burgers
Most have gluten and dairy because they included the bun in the list. What if you got just the meat patty with no bun...and no cheese? Doesn't really say if the meat itself contains allergens or not.

Milk in A&W Burgers
I updated with some of the product changes. To the best of my knowledge, in the U.S. the hamburger no cheese is still a go, but I have put in an inquiry with the company to check. They still have the kids burger listed as made without milk.
