Raising Cane's PDF Print E-mail

Raising Cane's Chicken FingersWe communicated with this company a few times about allergen information for their menu, and unfortunately, the information we received was never quite clear. Here is the most helpful portion of the emails we received:

"At Raising Cane's(r) several of our products do contain fresh dairy and eggs.  This includes our Always Fresh. Never Frozen(tm) chicken fingers, which are hand battered and breaded before cooking. In addition, our sauces, coleslaw and Texas toast also contain dairy; however, our French fries are dairy and egg free.

In the past, we have accommodated guests with dairy and egg allergies by cooking "naked" chicken fingers. This is not a frequent occurrence and is done at the discretion of the management at the location.

Since we use both dairy and eggs in our restaurant, there will be a risk that everything we serve could come in contact with them. As we can't guarantee that chicken will be segregated into the same fryer, there is always the possibility of cross contamination of the fries. Even frying a "naked" chicken finger would still have the possibility of having some egg included because of the batter fall-off in the fryer.

If you do decide to visit any of our locations, please ask for the manager on duty and notify them of the allergy so that they may best accommodate you."

Now here is where they lost us though: "Our Cane's sauce does contain egg and anchovy paste." They said all of the sauces had dairy above, but then state specifically eggs and fish, not dairy. Also, they note that their coleslaw contains dairy, which is odd. Most contain mayo (eggs), but not dairy. Either this is an unique and ultra-creamy coleslaw or the prewritten allergen emails sent out by their customer service have their wires crossed (it was obviously a form letter they kept emailing to us).

Definitely speak with the manager at the Raising Cane's you plan to dine at, to get a list of ingredients and to find out if they can even accomodate your dairy-free or other free-from needs.
