"Just wanted to suggest adding Moose Winooski's to the list of restaurants in Canada.  There's only 3 locations, all in southern Ontario, but they're very popular locally.

My husband wanted steak for his birthday so that's where we ended up going ... We phoned the manager of our local Moose and were assured that our servers would be happy to help, and that the kitchen staff is trained to make substitutions in the case of allergies.  They can't provide any direct allergy information, but they were very helpful in making sure that whatever I ordered was dairy-free. 

My server went to the kitchen and got answers to all of my questions.  It certainly worked out ... I also know for sure now that their calamari and their fish and chips are DF.  Lots of cheese and cream on the menu but at least there's a few options left for me!  Their menu is also available online, which helped me come up with questions beforehand."
