I kid you not, one of the best sushi restaurants in the West is in North Lake Tahoe.  The owner, Michael, travels to San Francisco twice per week to hand select his fish.  Michael was a radio show chef in Hong Kong for many years, and he knows good quality food.  The salmon is incredible and the tuna is always spot on.  The best part, it is unbelievably cheap if you are willing to eat a little early.  At Lunch and Happy Hour (4pm to 5:30pm) all-you-can-eat sushi is just $14.95.  When we lived in Lake Tahoe we went there twice per week!  It isn't always busy, but don't let that fool you, the food is fantastic and worth the price!
