Canada & U.S. - Multiple Locations - Starbucks PDF Print E-mail

I must admit to supporting this massive chain due to my addiction to tea when I travel. Nonetheless, they do hold some merits for the dairy-free consumer:

Vivanno Nourishing Blends - When a rep at Starbucks asked me to sample this and told me it could be made dairy-free, I had trouble finding a Starbucks at first that could accomodate.  Surprisingsly, some of the baristas looked a bit dumbfounded since it is made with a whey protein blend.  But, minus the weight protein blend, sub in soymilk for the 2% and you have yourself a dairy-free smoothie.  Nothing fancy I admit, but when you are out of town, finding a dairy-free breakfast can be tricky, and this offers a healthy option.  I tried the Orange, Mango, Banana Blend and it was good, if not a bit overpowering on the orange and banana and underwhelming on the mango side. They also offer banana chocolate and banana chocolate with espresso blends.

Soy Chai and Lattes - Almost every Starbucks now carries soymilk, so you can transform most of their coffee blends, and my favorite chai tea, into a dairy-free and vegan concoction.

Non-Dairy Tea Infusions - I haven't tried these yet, but have read about them in the news. The Berry Chai Infusion and the Apple Chai Infusion, combine steamed fruit juice with black tea and spices. You can also order their new tea lattes with soymilk instead of the traditional 2%

As for the food, this is store dependent.. Some offer a vegan treat or two, and I am not sure, but their new oatmeal may be dairy-free.  Call Starbucks for allergen inquiries - 1-800-235-2883.
