Non-Dairy Ice Cream Sandwiches...An In-Depth Review
Wednesday, 29 August 2007

Ice Cream SandwichesThe Vegetarian Site - From pints of non-dairy ice cream to frozen novelties, vegan frozen dessert options are proliferating today. In this in-depth and unbiased article, we review eight different nondairy frozen ice cream sandwich products, including four conventional sandwiches (wafer-type) and four cookie sandwiches. New Organic Chocolate and Discount from Sjaak's
Tuesday, 28 August 2007
Sjaak's Dark ChocolateFounded in 1985 by a European confectioner, Sjaak’s Fine Chocolates made the transition into Sjaak’s Organic Chocolates in 2004.  Since then, it has been full steam ahead in product development.  At last count, I noted 14 different bars, 6 of which are vegan.  We will get into more detail on those below, but I must first mention that they have a new line of Tub Bites too.  These minis should be gracing store counters in no time.

Peace Offering
Sunday, 26 August 2007

Peace CookiesBy Hannah Kaminsky, My Sweet Vegan - Feeling for all the world as if I had just swallowed a ton of bricks, the dread of leaving for school grew only more powerful as the hours passed, my days in a comfortable home numbered and quickly slipping away. There wasn’t a thing I could say to express my jumbled emotions, no matter how I tried to talk through it, ignore it, or try to keep my mind off it; I’m simply no good at keeping anxiety at bay. Laying awake in bed, pondering what on earth might make my mind at ease, there was only one answer that kept coming back, echoing through the depths of that tired brain, but I was desperate enough to try anything.

Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert - A Taste-Off
Saturday, 25 August 2007

It's Soy DeliciousNon-Dairy "ice cream" is gaining so much popularity, that even the San Francisco Chronicle couldn't resist a taste-testing.  While I don't whole-heartedly agree with their less than stellar views of the overall Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert category, I was pleased to see a few worthy products getting some long overdue recognition.  The five taste-testers rated ten vanilla flavored brands of frozen dessert on a scale of 1 to 100 (100 as best).  Below is their rankings, along with some of our personal tasting notes...
