Wheat-FreeThis site may follow a dairy-free focus, but our primary goal is to promote a healthy and delicious life, no matter what dietary restrictions you may be faced with.  For that reason, we cater to food allergies, Coeliac Disease, vegan living, GFCF needs, etc.  For many dairy-free dieters, wheat / gluten is also a problem, and when faced with the problem of how to cut out both wheat and dairy ... well it can seem overwhelming.  Luckily, the friendly people at Foods Matter have published an article in their October issue sharing wheat-free stories and addressing the question: ‘I can’t eat wheat. Carrot CookiesJanelle, Brown Bag Blues - Is it really that time of year? The leaves are turning and the lunch bags cross my counter every morning. The kids' backpacks are strewn throughout the house and school projects are the talk of the day.  I am tickled to be back in the brown bag lunch season, where I dig deeper for new ideas and recipes, and try to rally my boys to try new snacks, dips and sandwiches. College Scholarships Go Vegetarian

VegUCalling all Vegan Teens!  The Vegetarian Resource Group is offering two $5000 scholarships each year to graduating U.S. high school students who have promoted vegetarianism in their schools and/or communities. The current scholarship awards are open to high school seniors who will be graduation in the spring of 2008.  The deadline for submisssion is February 20, 2008, but they are already accepting applications.  See the VRG website for more details.
