Dairy Can Aggravate Arthritis

Anonymous ~ I have known for several years that I was "somewhat lactose intolerant" and would eat yogurt & small amounts of cheese but not drink milk as it caused me gastrointestinal problems. Recently, I went to a naturopathic doctor who took me off all dairy products. She told me that if you are lactose intolerant, you are lactose intolerant & that dairy intolerance creates other problems in your system besides gastrointestinal problems & can stress your body as it is fighting foods your body cannot handle. I have had pains in my hands from arthritis & migraines since I was about 18, and I am now pain-free!

Diagnosing Lactose Intolerance with a Kahlua and Cream

Michelle - I was thrilled to find your website!  I have been living with lactose intolerance for almost 20 yrs.  My stepmom diagnosed it after a card game with homemade kahlua and cream.  I had had stomach problems for years and never knew what was going on - after one drink, and one hand, I was immediately sick.  Spare you the details :)  Long story short, I eliminated so called normal dairy products and began to feel better.  Yep, she was right ...

Dairy free for a year and never felt better!

Gary - I have been dairy free for a year now and have never felt better. Specifically, my sever reflux/heartburn that I have had for the last ten years is gone! Even more significant is that my asthma that I have had since I was an infant is so under control. My asthma is literally about 10% of what it used to be. I have never known what it is like not to be on some kind of medicine for the my asthma, including carrying around my inhaler all my life. Now, I don't even know where one is in the house right now :) I am living a completely different life now!  ...

Erasing Eczema

Missy - After going to a general health practitioner because of the eczema all over my son's body, it was suggested that I slather on steroids to remedy the problem. I'm a get to the problem rather than cover the symptoms kind of gal, so I contacted an amazing holistic M.D. she suggested that the eczema could be allergy related and it most likely was due to a dairy allergy. After the general shock of not eating diary was over (I snack on chocolate milk and cheese), I realized that it's just food and did it. My son's eczema has COMPLETELY cleared and he is doing wonderfully. Amazing.

Dairy Free for Baby

Jolene - We recently found out that our 2 month old baby is allergic to the dairy in breastmilk. He had blood in his diaper and I instantly panicked. The doctor said this is common in babies who have an allergy to the protein in milk and advised me to go on a dairy free diet. I didn't realize that his fussiness and gas pains were caused by the milk and cheese I was ingesting ...

I Went Dairy-Free for Breastfeeding

Kathleen - It has been 4 weeks of dairy free living and I have a different baby.  My second child suffered such bad reflux he was on medicine for 2 years.  So when my third child was born and showed the same signs we put her on medicine as well.  But it didn't help totally.  She was still spitting up all of the time.  Then the Dr. suggested going dairy free in my diet to help her.  After about 5 days I had a whole new baby.  It has been a God send.  Not to mention how good I feel and the help losing the baby weight.

Milk Free for a Casein Allergy

Randi - I have been sensitive to dairy since I was little. I had some allergy tests done in High School and tested positive on the skin test to the protein in cows milk. However, I didn't eat dairy often enough to pinpoint any symptoms. As time passed I started to keep track of headaches and other reactions anywhere from looking like I had two black eyes to fatigue to hives. It took a long time to pinpoint what was causing it. But it turns out it was dairy, any small trace I will react to. Some right away some are delayed reactions...

A Daily Struggle with Lactose Intolerance

Sandra - I'm 21 years old and I was diagnosed as being lactose intolerant about a year ago. I stared seeing my doctor about 2 years ago. I was constantly in pain(gas, diarrhea and stomach aches). She diagnosed me with IBS(Irritable Bowel Syndrome). I did not like the fact that I was being diagnosed with something you cannot treat. I made my doctor send me for tests. I had stomach ultrasound and a pelvic ultrasound. My blood was tested and I was tested for Celiac Disease. Everything came back fine.  At one point the pain was so bad I went to the ER and after waiting 9 hours the doctor on hand told me to go home that there was nothing he could do ...
