Discovering it was a Milk Allergy, After 17 Years of Symptoms

Kim ~ I am not really sure where to start, but I would love to share my story with other people. Since I was 15, I suffered from severe migraines. After years of added symptoms which included dizziness, fatigue, swelling, heart palpitations, insomnia, sweating.... the list goes on and on....I decided enough was enough. Medical treatment's and tests always came back perfectly normal, sometimes too normal. On paper I was in perfect health! MRI's and ultrasounds all came back with normal results ...

Abigail's Milk Allergy

Amber ~ Hi I'm new to the allergy game. We just got done with a 5 day hospital stay due to milk allergy. For the longest time I heard milk allergy and thought lactose intolerant. You know gassy, bloaty, maybe uncomfortable. My youngest had an intolerance, we put her on soy she was fine, we switched her to milk at 18 months and she was fine. I had heard about kids who had weird poop and a couple other things but we never had any of those issues so I didn't pay much attention to it ...

Joint Pain (Sjogren's) & Milk

Tiffany ~ I was diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome (autoimmune disease that causes dry eyes, dry mouth, joint stiffness/pain) and Celiac disease (gluten intolerance) in Oct 2007. Also in my testing I discovered I was casein (milk protein) intolerant.  I went gluten free first and then 6 months later VERY hesitantly went dairy free. Gluten free was easy for me for lots of reasons, mainly because I was already convinced of the horrible affects that gluten had on my body.  Casein or dairy free was a big struggle.  Well, I'm 100% convinced now! ...

Anxiety, muscle fatigue and joint pain are symptoms too!

Anonymous ~ For a year I had anxiety, muscle fatigue, joint pain, heart palpitations, tingling in my fingers, shaking and not able to hold a thought in my head....I tried everything from excersize to antidepressants and nothing stopped the symptoms. My husband suggested an elimation diet and long story short - dairy was causing ALL OF THESE SYMPTOMS. After only a few days without dairy the symptoms disappeared. When I eat anything with dairy I get symptoms immediately. It sucks, but I finally feel healthy again!

Who Needs Dairy?

Anonymous ~ I am sixteen years old and I have always been severely allergic to dairy, eggs, and peanuts. Whenever someone finds that out for the first time they tell me right away, "Wow, that really sucks. I'm sorry!". But in my opinion it's nothing to be sorry about. My allergies over the years have taught me so much. They've made me never feel sorry for myself because I remember how many people out there have it off so much worse. I'm an extremely fortunate person and so what if I've never had ice cream, or cheese? It makes me different and I'm very educated about allergies because of my own situation. Who needs dairy?

Cheese-less pizza advocate

Steeve ~ (he spotted our cheeseless pizza article and sent this fun response) It is nice to know that I'm not alone in my "anti-cheese" stand.. I don't have any internal issues with cheese, nor any allergies; I simply don't like the taste of cheese. I have, for years, been the only person I knew that ordered pizza with no cheese. Even during my stint as an employee at a popular nationwide pizza franchise, I never had anyone else order a pizza without cheese. On those occasions when I do actually order a pizza, I get mine with sausage, bellpeppers, onions, and mushrooms... and of course, no cheese...otherwise, I'm forced to just eat the scraps of pizza crust from my kids, that they are always so willing to hand over...mmmmm.

Morning Sinusitus Gone

Anonymous ~ For several years I  had morning sinusitus which took at least an hour to clear.  After I eliminated dairy products from my diet by using rice milk and soy cheese, the sinusitus cleared and has stayed clear for months.  Some of the morning attacks were so severe I had full blown panic attacks.  In addition, I always had a lumpy feeling in my throat with the need to clear by coughing at least every minute.  I always knew that I was lactose intolerant by blood in my stool, but never realized all of the complications associated with dairy.

Living with allergies

LaVerne ~ I am 61 years old. I have been "allergic to the world" since I was born. I am unable to drink white cow's milk, and had goat's milk when I was a baby. Soy substitutes were merely a gleam in their makers' eyes in 1947. I have never been able to eat fish or shellfish or any type seafood. In fact, I can't breathe the air when fish or seafood is being fried due the molecules in the air that invade my airways. I am allergic to most types evergreens, a whole host of flowers, especially ragweed, hollyhocks, hay and grasses. I am allergic to most animals' hair and dander ...
