Beware of Casein AND Soy PDF Print E-mail

Jen ~ Years ago I switched from dairy to soy products for the purported health benefits.  Within months I was suffering from digestive and reproductive hormone problems.  An enlightened physician reviewed environment and diet changes and proposed the soy switch as the problem -- I returned to dairy and those problems went away. However, I also had a history of chronic sinusitis, skin sensitivity, acne, bruising, and lethargy. I am also bipolar and ADHD.  After reading about casein problems and mood disorders I removed dairy from my diet and saw an immediate and significant improvement in all of these problems. BTW The cystic acne problems were gone within 24 HOURS and only recur when I have dairy, and seem to correlate directly with high-fat dairy ...

I wanted to let people know about my problems with soy because of the current fads touting soy benefits.  Soy protein can be as much a villain as other dietary sources if your gut or other biochemical systems can't deal with it.  And the phytohormones can cause problems for some.  DO NOT assume that soy is good for you.
