Anonymous ~ For several years I had morning sinusitus which took at least an hour to clear. After I eliminated dairy products from my diet by using rice milk and soy cheese, the sinusitus cleared and has stayed clear for months. Some of the morning attacks were so severe I had full blown panic attacks. In addition, I always had a lumpy feeling in my throat with the need to clear by coughing at least every minute. I always knew that I was lactose intolerant by blood in my stool, but never realized all of the complications associated with dairy. |

LaVerne ~ I am 61 years old. I have been "allergic to the world" since I was born. I am unable to drink white cow's milk, and had goat's milk when I was a baby. Soy substitutes were merely a gleam in their makers' eyes in 1947. I have never been able to eat fish or shellfish or any type seafood. In fact, I can't breathe the air when fish or seafood is being fried due the molecules in the air that invade my airways. I am allergic to most types evergreens, a whole host of flowers, especially ragweed, hollyhocks, hay and grasses. I am allergic to most animals' hair and dander ... |

Anonymous ~ I have been on a dairy-free/egg-free diet for 2 months now and for the first time since I was 13 (that was over 20 years ago!) I am ACNE FREE. I kid you not. I could see an instant improvement on about day two of my diet. After a week or so the acne was just completely gone. And I feel GREAT - with tons and tons more energy. I've also lost 30 pounds. I thought I would miss all of my favorite foods but I've found so many wonderful new favorites and I look and feel so much better that I don't miss anything. If I had only known this 20 years ago... !!!!!! |

Anonymous ~ When my son was diagnosed with Autism, his peds doc gave me no hope. I started my own research and found a DANs! Doctor, the FIRST thing she had me do was change [his] diet to GF/CF. I really didn't think it would do that much, but boy was I wrong! He went from maybe one bowel movement a month (no kidding) to now about 4 a week! He is so happy now! I am so thrilled to have found this site so that I have new recipes to try out on him. |

Anonymous ~ Let me say, if I could take home my Dermatologist, I would.. this doctor is the FIRST doctor in my life who took on my unique condition, PCOS. June of 2007 it was recommended by my Dermatologist (Dr W. Danby in Manchester, NH) to go Dairy Free. He had compiled a journal on his findings with women who are diagnosed with PCOS and the effects of Dairy. Let me just say, he was right... It was a little difficult for the first 4 months. I gave myself time to wean off during the first 2 months. By month 3, I was down to 2 svgs per week, and then by Month 4, I had one serving a week and decided to delete Dairy by the end of that month ... |

Calista ~ As a reference for you, if you're not sure whether you're lactose intolerant or not, I thought I'd share some of my personal symptoms since they weren't all the "typical" lactose intolerant ones. This is truly an incapacitating illness that can totally catch you off-guard, no matter how young or old you might be. I have struggled for the past 6 months, since my diagnosis, to cut dairy out. It is difficult, but it's possible. Believe me, when my doctor first told me I could no longer have cheese in any form, I cried. Right there in the office with my doctor looking at me awkwardly, I cried. My favorite meal, being a college-aged student living in the dorms, was lasagna hamburger helper and mac'n'cheese. And what college student doesn't have bagels and cream cheese in their room as a breakfast option? Yeah, I cried ... |

Anonymous ~ I get extreme allergy reactions to dairy products and my face swells in my sinuses - one side of my face by my nose and continuing up to my brow and head. Exceedingly painful and puts me in bed for the day. I get this for 24 hours and it will come anywhere from 6 to 48 hours after eating dairy. The only dairy products I can eat are butter and cream (thank goodness) which are pure fat and don't have the junk in them [please note that butter and cream do still contain casein and lactose in some quantities and will not be safe for those who have moderate to severe allergies or sensitivities to milk]. So I either avoid them like the plague or have recently tried Lactaid which works like a miracle cure for me. No more sinus. I still don't overdo it but sometimes I DO like some blue cheese or something else yummy. |

Minette, Burbank,CA ~ I have had eczema since I was a child. But in the past 10 months it flared up. It looked so ugly on my entire face and neck that I leave the house only because I need to visit my patients. Yes, I look more sick than the patients I visit! I decline parties and visits with long lost relatives. Depressing! I'm 35 years old and wondered what happened. I researched about eczema online for months and I finally made my conclusion...milk! I knew I couldn't digest whole milk but it didn't occur to me that I slowly could not digesting even butter, yogurt and cheese. So I stopped eating desserts with cream, dairy ice cream, pastries with hints of butter, fetuccini alfredo and the likes, sour cream, etc. Lo and behold! With natural topical remedies, my rashes start to disappear. It has been 4 weeks now and I can't be happier. My skin is radiant again and smooth. I thank the good Lord for answering my prayers as well. |
