Goodbaker Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix (Organic, Vegan) PDF Print E-mail

Please Note: This product has been discontinued.

Goodbaker has indicated that they may resume production at some time.  See their website for details.

Everyone enjoyed these brownie-like concoctions.  Deep in chocolate with a nice chewy cookie texture and high quality organic chocolate chips; no indulgence was lost in these whole-wheat vegan gems.  Just for fun, I decided to trial these in a hidden taste test at a barbecue.  Every last cookie was devoured, and I managed to overhear three “these are great” comments before I let them know they were vegan, whole wheat, and from a mix.  Needless to say, everyone was very surprised.  The women were especially pleased when I announced that each cookie had only 2 grams of fat and 86 calories.  I think I may have created a few more vegan recruits.  These are not your typical “eat an entire box” low calorie cookies either.  I found these seriously chocolaty cookies to be so rich, that one cookie was enough…for at least an hour or two anyway.

  • Pros:  Vegan; Free of refined sugars; Made with whole grain flour; Organic ingredients; Hearty; Very easy to make; Low in fat; Rich chocolate flavor
  • Cons:  Contains wheat and soy, allergens for some; A touch more sensitive to cooking time

Recommended for:

  • Cookie Dough Eaters (egg-free)
  • Kids
  • Soymilk Dunkers
  • Chocoholics
  • The Baking Challenged

Goodbaker Overall Review:

Almost as important as the taste, we absolutely loved Goodbaker’s gift quality and environmentally friendly packaging.  The nicely decorated cardboard boxes of mix are wrapped neatly in a single sheet of green tissue, which perfectly matches their logo.  The use of mostly organic ingredients in their products, further exemplifies this company’s high quality and social standards.  Two thumbs up for this.
