The gluten-free market is like a breeding ground for foodie inventions. Specialty flours, gluten replacements … really, even famous chefs have taken to experimenting with gluten-free products to add new textures and flavors to their recipes. Yet, some never cease to amaze me; one being the Quick Quinoa Powder from NorQuin. Quinoa flour I have heard of, but an instant powder? Now that is interesting. Of course, such a unique new product needs some introduction as to how to use it. So the folks at NorQuin set out to invent some recipes: Quinoa Granola, Instant Quinoa Chocolate Milk, Quinoa Fruit Shake, Quinoa Flax Flatbread, and Creamy Quinoa Tomato Soup rounded out the gluten-free group. This is definitely a fun product to experiment with, and it has a very fine texture that dissolves nicely, though not always completely. The flavor is fairly neutral, making for a product that can be used in both sweet and savory applications.
