Odwalla Mo’ Beta® Nourishing Beverage PDF Print E-mail

As it happens, my favorite grocery store is directly on the way home from our not so conveniently located gym.  This means my husband and I frequently drag our exhausted, dehydrated bodies through grocery store aisles.  Not surprisingly, the second we enter the store, we beeline straight for the cold beverage aisle.  After checking out the ‘sale’ tags (husband rule #1), we begin reading labels, attempting to find the one beverage that is worth the $2 or more price tag for such a small package.  This means anything with apple or grape juice is out (husband rule #2).  Meeting with the husband’s rules is no easy task to be certain.  Especially rule #2; it is unbelievable how many 100% juices are filled mostly with these two very inexpensive ingredients.

One day, we hit the jackpot.  Down to our last Odwalla label, we discovered Mo’ Beta®.  For starters, it was on sale for $2, and had enough packed into the one plastic bottle to tide us both over.  Then, there was the ingredients: Orange Juice, Peach Puree, Mango Puree, Plum Puree, Pure Filtered Water, Pineapple Juice, Evaporated Cane Juice, Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid), Vitamin E (d-alpha Tocopherol Acetate), Lemon Bioflavonoids, Beta Carotene, Zinc Gluconate, Green Tea Extract.  Granted we could have done without the small addition of cane juice, but it was still a go!

Honestly, aside from bouts of dehydration, I have never really been a juice person.  However, I love to make fruit smoothies.  That being said, I think we hit the jackpot with Mo’ Beta.   It was fantastic!  The sweetness of pureed peach and mango came bursting through, yet the overall drink wasn’t too thick.  Though it wasn’t on the ingredient list, the fruit combination had a tangerine-like appeal that we both absolutely loved.  This one is a definite repurchase!

My Extra Notes & Tips:

  • This beverage is quite literally injected with Vitamins A, C, and E.  That being said, it is high in sugars and low in fiber, as to be expected from a juice.

Where to Purchase: Odwalla beverages are available throughout the US and Canada in the cold beverage section.  They often have a min-fridge to themselves.  This particular flavor was not yet available in Canada at the time of writing, but new flavors are appearing to the north frequently.  See the Odwalla website for a store locator.
