POM 100% Juice (Vegan, Gluten-Free, Nut-Free, Soy-Free) PDF Print E-mail

POM Wonderful 100% JuiceIt has been difficult to miss the antioxidant powerhouse company that is POM Wonderful, as they blanket the internet with a blogger blitz, introducing their rapidly expanding product line with fervor.

But it all starts with their core product, the simple pomegranate. Unbelievably, I have still yet to sample a whole pomegranate, but I have at last tried the POM Wonderful Pomegranate Juice. It comes in 100% Pomegranate as well as a few juice blend varieties.

Some people aren’t fans of pomegranate juice as it isn’t sweet as some other fruit juices; it has a slight cranberry-like tartness for contrast. But I love it. The sweet-tart flavor simply dances on my taste buds. I had fully anticipated to bake and cook up some wonderful recipes with my supply of POM Wonderful, but I simply couldn’t stop drinking it. I’m not a big juice drinker, but I do love its thicker cousin, the smoothie. My favorite mode of consumption was my morning POM-Mango smoothie (trust me, ripe mango and pomegranate is a match made in heaven). It also made the pomegranate juice last longer, which was a definite plus, as it can be a little pricey.

Aside from the straight pomegranate juice, I tried the Pomegranate Kiwi Juice and the Pomegranate Nectarine Juice, which are also rightfully billed as 100% juice.

The Pomegranate Kiwi tasted almost like a more refined grape juice to me. There were some wonderful tart notes for contrast, which was excellent since I’m not a fan of sweet grape juice. The Pomegranate Nectarine seemed sweeter and tarter. There was definitely a bigger flavor swing from the first taste to the aftertaste. Both were delicious and unique (and better options for those who like their juice on the sweeter side), but I definitely prefer the pure POM!

POM Wonderful comes in three other juice blend varieties, POM Blueberry, POM Cherry, and the one I obviously need to try, POM Mango.

This is a third party review by Alisa Fleming, author of Go Dairy Free: The Guide & Cookbook.  For more information on these iced teas, see the POM Wonderful website.
