Everybody Eats Egg Challah (Gluten-Free, Soy-Free) PDF Print E-mail

Truly amazing customer service!  I emailed the folks at Everybody Eats to inquire on their dairy-free offerings, and they got back to me within minutes.  After just two days of correspondence a package with chicken raviolis, egg challah, and banana bread arrived on my doorstep from all the way across the country!  Each item was carefully packaged within a reusable cooler, I was impressed.

We opted to trial the gluten-free Egg Challah first.  It had that wonderful golden color, but strayed slightly from tradition in form.  It was prepared as a generously sized and practical 9x6 inch loaf rather than a weave.  It sliced very well, and did not crumble, but had a tendency to break apart into large pieces.  I enjoyed the flavor, which was just barely sweet.  The texture was very light and airy, but a touch dry.  As with many gluten-free “yeast” breads, it was more enjoyable toasted.  However, thanks to Allergic Girl’s suggestion, we discovered the true calling of this Challah was in fact French toast.

I pulled out a basic Dairy-free French Toast Recipe, grabbed a frying pan, and just ten minutes later…beautifully thick slices of Challah French toast.  Incredible.  Both my husband and I loved it.  The light texture and flavor of the bread was the perfect setting for a restaurant quality breakfast.  Lucky for us, there was just enough bread left for a repeat performance the next morning.

Pros: Gluten-free; Good flavor; All-natural; Excellent for regular toast and French toast

Cons: A bit dry

Where to Buy:  To place an order, give them a call or send an email using the contact information from the Everybody Eats website.  They ship from their shop in Brooklyn to homes throughout the United States.

Special Notes:  Everybody Eats accommodates special diet requests whenever possible.  Don’t hesitate to contact their friendly owners.  They provide very prompt and helpful service.
