Erewhon Strawberry Crisp Cereal (Vegan, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free) PDF Print E-mail

I happened upon an opportunity to taste-test a few cereals from U.S. Mills, and the first one I jumped on was the new Erewhon Strawberry Crisp Cereal.

Erewhon Strawberry Crisp Cereal

When tasted as is, I absolutely adored this cereal. Each flake was crispy, light, and gently but perfectly sweetened. The dehydrated strawberries were liberally scattered about and more like chunks than bits, offering a strawberry bite per spoonful; quite generous as far as cereals go.

The strawberries were sweet-tart, giving my taste buds a friendly but bold wake-up call. Once doused in almond milk, the flakes stayed fairly crispy (though my bowl was gone before I could really test the staying power), and the strawberries rehydrated, adding even more flavor.

My husband was immediately reminded of Kellogg’s Special K with strawberries, but conceded that this version tasted fresher, and definitely had more strawberry chunks. He pretty much polished off the package in three days, but luckily, I managed to get another sizable bowlful before the entire box vanished.
I loved how the Strawberry Crisp is made with organic ingredients, is gluten-free, and doesn’t mess around with unnatural enrichments or fortifications … it is what it is, real food. I would definitely buy this cereal again!

Ingredients: Organic brown rice, organic corn meal, organic evaporated cane juice, freeze-dried strawberries, sea salt, natural flavor.
