GrandyOats Classic Granola (Organic, Soy-Free) PDF Print E-mail

This hearty granola melds a diverse array of flavors into a delicious, relatively crunchy mix.  Oats are the primary ingredient, but I could really taste the whole seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, and sesame) along with the occasional crunchy bite of cashew pieces.  The inclusion of wheat germ and bran imparted a bold flavor, while hints of vanilla helped to carry the sweetness and mellow the more rugged ingredients.  Although I could not taste the coconut, it seemed to be an integral part of the overall texture.  In general, we loved the Classic Granola for both snacking and cereal.  It is surprisingly low in sugar, only 6 grams per serving, when compared with the 15 plus grams of sugar found in most commercial granolas.  Yet, it has just the right amount of organic honey to satisfy a mild morning sugar craving.  Our testers also found this granola to be an excellent backdrop for customization.  One person added some crystallized ginger and dried cranberries, while another threw in a handful of raisins.  Personally, I would jump on the chance to trial this delightfully fresh, natural, and wholesome granola again…as is.

  • Pros:  Relatively high in protein; Low in sugar; Good blend of unsaturated fats; Organic; Big chunks of high quality ingredients
  • Cons:  Like most nutty granolas, it is a bit high in fat

Recommended For:

  • Snacking
  • Breakfast as is, or Mixed with Flakes, Raisins, etc.
  • Low Sugar Diets

 Where to Buy:

  • Online – Direct from GrandyOats
  • In Store - Natural Food Stores in the U.S.
