Chocolate-Covered Pretzel Rods

I simply love this idea for birthdays and gifts since the rods are cutely decorated in festive sprinkles. The ones I sampled donned Halloween colors, but you can easily ask the ladies at Chocolate Emporium to customize some sprinkles for you I am quite certain.

The quality doesn’t end with the looks though. The lightly-salted, thick and bready pretzels provide an excellent medium for delivering dark chocolate straight to your mouth. I would love to see them come up with white chocolate-covered pretzels too … a dream come true!

Chocolate Drizzled Popcorn (Munchies)

At first glance, I thought “Popcorn drizzled with dark chocolate; it sounds interesting, but is it really that special?” Then I took my first bight. What you could see was the thin but generous drizzle of a semi-sweet dark chocolate decorating the popcorn clusters. What you couldn’t see was the sweet white chocolate also covering each kernel with a light blanket. Oh my goodness. Talk about an awesome surprise! My husband and I devoured the entire bag in minutes, and were fighting over the chocolate crumbs.

Chocolate Emporium’s white chocolate is very sweet, but when combined with the dark chocolate and popcorn, it was impossible for anyone to resist. I do hope they will swap out the partially hydrogenated oil in the confectioner’s / white coating for a non-hydrogenated version, but can’t argue with the wonderful flavors.

Unfortunately, I lost my pictures for this confection, but you can trust me that it looks as lovely as it tastes!

Chocolate-Covered Oreos

Just when I thought the chocolate-covered goodness couldn’t get any better, I discovered this cookie. Adorably decorated with a candy pumpkin (honestly, too, too cute!), this sandwich cookie was a chocolate-lover’s delight. The standard Oreo cookie was robed in a very thick blanket of semi-sweet dark chocolate. Pure deliciousness.

The only thing that caught me slightly off guard with this combination was the dark aftertaste of the chocolate. The Oreos are quite sugary and reminiscent of childhood, but the dark, slightly bittersweet, burst at the end was rather grown-up. Nonetheless, I could easily eat five more of these.
