Alisa Fleming ~ Do you need dairy-free stocking stuffers, gifts for your favorite candy bar fan, a treat to keep you fueled through hectic days of holiday shopping, or simply an “everyday” kind of indulgence to quell your chocolate cravings? If you said yes to any of these, then I definitely recommend any of the vegan candy bars from Go Max Go Foods.
It has been a couple years now since I first reviewed their initial line of candy bars. My personal favorites were the Mahalo and Twilight bars, but all are still going strong in sales. And now, they have two new candy bars that will appeal to anyone who loved the sweet crisp of a Nestle’s Crunch bar or who wants a “purer” and dairy-free alternative to Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
Snap! Candy Bar (Crisped Rice in a Rice-Milk Chocolatey Coating) After years of eating semi-sweet, dark, and super-dark chocolate, I often forget how sweet “milk” chocolate can be. The Snap bar is a true dessert indulgence, and perfect for soothing any sweet tooth. I loved that it is scored into chunky squares that are perfect for nibbling. Just two squares usually covers my sugar cravings perfectly. Snap! has a definite milky vibe (excellent, as the chalky darks can get tiresome in my opinion) with the perfect amount of crispy crunch (from whole grain brown rice – try to top that Nestle!). Cleo’s Peanut Butter Cups (Creamy Peanut Butter, Rice-Milk Chocolatey Coating) Don’t expect to find an identical vegan replacement for those Reese’s cups here, but do expect to find an amazing peanut butter and chocolate dessert! Do you remember those days of dipping chocolate bars in the peanut butter jar? Come on, I know my sister and I weren’t the only ones doing that! Cleo’s are really like that true all natural peanut butter meets chocolate experience. The milky chocolate coating is super thick, and sweeter (like the Snap! bars), but perfectly tempered by the slightly savory, soft and almost gooey peanut butter filling. Dietary Notes: By ingredients, these candy bars are Vegan, Dairy-Free, Egg-Free, Gluten-Free, Nut-Free, Peanut-Free (the Snap! bar only), and Wheat-Free, but see the packaging for allergen and manufacturing "may contain" labeling.
