HomeFree Brownie Chip Cookies (Organic, Vegan, Nut-Free, Wheat-Free) PDF Print E-mail
Please Note: This product was formerly known as Gak's Snacks

Flavor:  Brownie Chip

My first words were “it tastes more like a brownie than a cookie”.  In my haste to sample them first, I failed to note these appropriately named cookies.   Each of our tasters gave the Brownie Chip cookies a thumb’s up.  However, all but one chocoholic proclaimed that their loyalties still lie with Gak’s Chocolate Chip Cookie.  The base cookie has a deep chocolate flavor, nicely contrasted by the semi-sweet chocolate chips.  The applesauce imparted a slight low fat taste.  However, it added a nice texture, and didn’t take away from the cookie since a small amount of high quality oil was still used.

Overall Gak's Snacks Cookie Review:

Big, soft and chewy cookies that taste like homemade, delivered right to my door, am I in heaven?  These generously sized cookies have an excellent flavor, and are loaded with semi-sweet chocolate chips that we couldn’t get enough of.  Each cookie is guaranteed free from peanuts, nuts, eggs, wheat (not gluten free), dairy, artificial flavors/colors, preservatives, cholesterol, and trans fats.  So what is left in these things?  The ingredients were a surprise.  A blend of all-natural, yet uncommon flours and sweeteners perfectly balanced to create a cookie that rivals mom’s.  No funny aftertaste, just pure cookie.  The allergen free quality makes them fantastic for kids, but they are a “don’t miss” for adults as well.  I must warn you, they are rather addictive.  These are “fresh” cookies, but they have a decent shelf life that will keep them tasty for a couple of weeks.

  • Pros:  Vegan, Organic, Free from the Top Allergens, Relatively Low Fat (12% of calories), Delicious Made from Scratch Taste
  • Cons:  Not much that we could find, see any notes within the cookie flavors

Recommended For:

  • Individuals with Common Allergens (wheat, eggs, nuts, dairy)
  • Big & Little Cookie Lovers
  • School Lunches
  • After School Snacks
