Kedem Tea Biscuits (Vegan, Nut-Free) PDF Print E-mail

By Barb Nicoletti - Kedem Tea Biscuits are small little biscuits that come in several flavors: with Vanilla, Orange, Plain and Chocolate, you have a selection to choose from. Served with a cup of tea, cup of coffee or rice milk, these little biscuits hit the spot for that afternoon sweet craving.

Costing around .79 cents a package and occasionally on sale for 3 / $1.00 this is a bargain for a quick snack.  Kedem tea biscuits are parve, dairy free, egg free and are run on a nut free line.  My children love them, and it is a quick snack that I normally do not worry about giving them.  Pop them in a zip log bag, and we are off to run a few morning errands, and their little faces are not a mess when you arrive at your destination.   These little biscuits are great for little ones, low in sugar, very low fat, and with a calorie count of only 32 calories for 2 biscuits.

They have the texture of cardboard when handling them, and the plain biscuits are lacking in the flavor section, so my pick would be vanilla or chocolate.  Make sure you have a drink handy; they can be a tad dry.

Where to Purchase: They are available in most grocery stores located in the ethnic section, kosher section or on amazon.com.

I am frequently frustrated by how manyt of Kedem sugar-free tea biscuits which I purchase that are broken when I open the packages or which essentially fall apart when I pick them up. Today I went through two packages to make little chocolate "ice cream" sandwichs using chocolate frosting (kids love this), for my party tomorrow, and I ended up short, hecauseof the broken ones. I did not have time to go back to the store, so some of my little guests are going to be disappointed.
