Nana’s (JUMBO) No Gluten Cookies – Lemon (Vegan, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free) PDF Print E-mail

Sweet, but not too sweet, this seriously lemon cookie is the ultimate accompaniment to afternoon tea.  I opened the package to a potent lemon scent that was quite delightful.  From the aroma I did expect a flavor overload.  Luckily, the pronounced lemon flavor was mellowed by the wonderfully sweet flavor of the overall cookie.

Nana's No Gluten Lemon Cookie

The texture is a cross between a shortbread cookie and a moist, dense cookie (such as molasses).  Not to be mistaken with its glutinous cousins, a distinct gluten-free texture is noted in Nana’s Lemon Cookie.  I could easily detect the familiar feel of brown rice flour.  Oddly enough, as someone who frequently consumes baked goods made with brown rice flour, the first bite is always a shock to me, and then I find myself preferring the melt-in your mouth, doughy, flour-like texture.

Lemon No Gluten Cookie

The extra-large size of this cookie looks remarkably similar to Grandma’s “Homestyle” Cookies found in quick-e-marts across America.  Luckily, the endearing Nana takes quality to a new level.  All of Nana’s cookies are free of refined sugars, dairy, eggs (vegan), hydrogenated oils, and salt.  As noted, the lemon cookie is also free of gluten and soy.

Though it is sweetened with only fruit juice, the granulated stuff is not missed in this cookie.  In fact, the fruit flavors meld perfectly with the lemon.  Speaking of lemon, I was pleasantly surprised to see the little Vitamin C bonus in this cookie (20% of the RDA in the whole cookie), though the calories would promote indulging in one serving, or just a half a cookie at a time.

Where to Purchase:  Nana's products are sold in stores throughout the U.S., most notaby in Whole Foods stores (now to include Wild Oats).  You can also order direct from Nana's Healthy Crowd website.

your wonderful lemon and ginger cookies!
These cookies are the best tasting. Wish you would make them the same size the four pack cookies come in. I really don\"t need to eat one that size. Thank you for making a great product. :)

My favorite cookies
I suffer from extreme food allergies, and I love cookies. When first diagnosed with allergies I thought I'd never be able to enjoy sweets and baked goods again, as conventional treats caused bad reactions and healthy alternatives could never taste as good. I was so incredibly happy and thankful when I first tried your No-Gluten Lemon Cookie. It's so good. It tastes like a real cookie. Only better - it also tastes like real food, made with wholesome ingredients. Sometimes I make an extra trip to the health food store just for these cookies. I'm always amazed at how much I enjoy them, and how I don't feel sick afterwards.

My favorite way to eat the Lemon cookies is in a bowl of unsweetened soy yogurt, with fresh lemon squeezed on top and a sprinkle of ginger.

gluten free, fruit juice sweetened and KOSHER-Who could ask for more! thank you for making these products. I tried the lemon cookies, wary that they would be overpowering lemony-but to my delight-they are not! They keep me from feeling deprived in a gluten, sugar world. :zzz

Myself and all 3 of my kids have Celiac Disease and my son has Aspergers Syndrome. We absolutely love these cookies and also the NO GLUTEN Ginger ones. We've become quite addicted to them :upset . We haven't been able to try the NO GLUTEN Chocolate or the Chocolate crunch yet because our Health food store doesn't carry them :cry .
I am so grateful to Nana's for these cookies.
THANK YOU NANA'S...MUAH
