AllerEnergy Nutrition Bars (Egg-Free, Gluten-Free, Nut-Free, Soy-Free) PDF Print E-mail

By Barb Nicoletti ~ As many food allergy moms know, finding a granola or energy bar that is free of the top eight food allergens is next to impossible.  Yet, at least one company has set up a dedicated facility, free from peanuts, wheat/gluten, eggs, dairy, soy, tree nuts, shellfish and corn, just to make such a product.  AllerEnergy produces granola bars in several flavors, including apple cinnamon, cherry blossom, wild berry and the one I was fortunate enough to test, chocolate swirl.

I tend to eat with my eyes first, taste buds second. So I liked the packaging; a see through wrapper giving me a glimpse of what my kids and I would be eating. It looked appealing enough, so we dove in.  The bar was soft, tasty and definitely a satisfying snack.

The package was clearly labeled with ingredients, allergen statements, kosher certification, vegan designation, made in a dedicated allergen-free facility, nutritional facts, and more.  As the mom of two children with multiple food allergies, I couldn’t have been more pleased with this above and beyond clarity.  This little package was packed with excellent information giving me as the consumer all I needed to know.

In addition to the granola bars, I had the opportunity to trial the new marshmallow treats from AllerEnergy.  You can read more in my other review.
