For those of you who like reviews that are short and sweet, I will sum up the Clean Cravings Perfectly Pesto Pizza in one word: AMAZING! Clean Cravings proves without a doubt that cheese is not the key to an excellent pizza (the praises I have been singing for so, so, so many years!). Dairy is definitely not missed here. In fact, it would only mask the wonderfully rich flavors. As the name suggests, there is a thick and indulgent layer of pesto atop this pizza that is rich with garlic, basil, and what tastes to be good quality olive oil. The toppings are light, but plenty. They include a smattering of sliced mushrooms and a handful of pine nuts, which toast up perfectly as the pizza bakes. The crust is thin and slightly chewy, with just a bit of crisp around the edges and on the bottom. It is definitely different from wheat-based crusts, but not odd or unpleasant at all; tasty in its own right. The only thing that was truly a bit “different” to me was that the crust had a light sweetness to it. But, once I settled into the unique flavor, it was fantastic. The sizing of each pizza is positively perfect for one adult. I have a decent-sized appetite, but this pizza and a side salad were definitely a full dinner. For little ones, you may get two meals out of it. The only other frozen GFCF pizza I have trialed is Amy’s brand, and I must admit that Clean Cravings Pesto Pizza kicks the pants off of Amy’s. Sorry Amy’s Kitchen, I still love you guys! My only wishes: That I could find these pizzas at my local grocer, and that they were just a bit less expensive. But, for a special treat, these are worth every penny! Oh yes, and though I wouldn't change a thing about this pizza, and I am excited they have another veggie pizza coming out, it would be great if they come up with some "clean" varieties for non-vegetarians too! ingredients: organic mushrooms, organic whole grain brown rice flour, organic olive oil, arrowroot flour, whole grain sorghum flour, pine nuts, organic basil, organic agave nectar, guar gum, fruit juice (grape, pear, apple), rice dextrins, organic roasted garlic, sea salt, organic black pepper.
