GF Meals Sweet-n-Sour Pork With Rice (Egg-Free, Gluten-Free, Nut-Free, Soy-Free) PDF Print E-mail

I had another meal from GF Meals and decided to give it a go the other night. I love stir-fries and chose the pork-stir fry ...

In my box from GF Meals the pork stir-fry was all baggied up and frozen. I like how there wasn't excess packaging too- less waste is a good thing! I mean if you think about it, you could even re-use the baggies if you were feeling extra-earth friendly.

So all I had to do was make this dinner. Easy as pie, defrost, cook, and eat. Here's what it looked like cooking. The only thing I did was add extra veggies because I love my veggies in stirfry!

This was insanely crazy easy to make- no need to make the sauce, no need to run around buying ingredients or forgetting anything.

Taste verdict? This was really yummy. The stir fry sauce had actual pineapple in it, which is how I make my teriyaki sauce. This was pretty close to my homemade sauce! OK, yea mine didn't even register on the taste radar compared to this, but hey a girl can dream right?

The sauce was nicely spiced and wasn't too hot and definitely wasn't flavorless. And best of all, I definitely couldn't tell that it was gluten or dairy free at all.

OK so let's do the round-up here. I only found one con for the company. The cost. For me, this was totally not cost effective. I could have made this for less than half of what it actually cost.

Other than that, this is a good way to jump into the world of GF/DF foods. It can be really hard to navigate and its really frustrating to find foods that are suitable for people with food allergies. This is where I would recommend GF Meals. For those who are just getting into GF/DF foods and need ideas and food NOW.

So while I can't say this is the cheapest way to do things- its an easy and convenient option when looking for meal ideas!
