Fantastic Foods Vegetarian Nature's Burger (Vegan) PDF Print E-mail

I purchased this product on deep discount, as my local grocer was discontinuing it.  Unfortunately, I can see why.  This “just add water” dry mix is supposed to magically transform into veggie burgers.  Alas, the dough was quite sticky and hard to work with.  Once I finally coerced them into patties, they did cook up easily, browning in just a few minutes per side.

While the texture was fine, the flavor was bland and slightly bitter.  The ingredients listed dehydrated vegetables among the second ingredient, yet I couldn’t detect a single veggie … just flours and grains.  While this product was a disappointment, it worked fine as veggie burger crumbles atop our salads, masked by the other more flavorful components.

Nature's Burger

Yes, some Vegenaise, Lemony Dill Seasoning from the ladies at Vegetarian Express, and a dash of almond milk made for a smashing salad dressing (in seconds might I add!) that covered up the rather sad flavor of this product, for a wonderful lunchtime salad.

Where to Purchase: You can buy Nature's Burger in stores, or direct from the Fantastic Foods website.  However, if you do, I would also pick up a seasoning from Vegetarian Express and a jar of Vegenaise to improve the experience.
