Sunland Peanut Better Organic Chunky Almond & Peanut Butter (Vegan, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free) PDF Print E-mail

Please note: This flavor has been discontinued ...

... but other flavors of Peanut Better are still available under the Sunland name.

Peanut Better Chunky Nut ButterI recently upgraded my peanut butter to a raw almond butter from Trader Joe’s.  Though I really like the change, it is admittedly quite a far cry from peanut butter.  Just as I was comparing the taste and texture differences in my head, I remembered a jar of Almond & Peanut Butter that I had been saving for a special occasion.  Since there really isn’t a special occasion for peanut butter, I headed to the cupboard to alleviate my curiosity.

Bridging the gap between almond butter and peanut butter nicely, there was certainly no disappointment in this product.  The bold roasted flavor came through as a rich and creamy spread spiked liberally with small chunks of both almonds and peanuts.  Just a hint of salt put the flavor over the top.  I thought about trialing it in some recipes, but quite frankly, I opted not to tamper with the flavor.  It was so good slathered on fresh baked bread, that nothing else seemed needed!

While it may be hard to break me away from my new found raw almond butter addiction, Peanut Better’s Almond & Peanut Butter offers a bold and flavorful twist on an age old favorite.

Peanut Better certainly doesn't stop with their Mixed Nuts line.  See our Nut & Seed Butter reviews for several Peanut Better flavors (12 in total!) of their flavors.  Some ranked as all time favorites (Vanilla Cranberry, yum!), while a couple others left us wanting.

My Extra Notes & Tips:

  • Be sure to turn the volume down on your computer when you head to the Peanut Better website if you are in the work place, it can be a little loud.
  • Several recipes are available on PeanutBetter.com.  Also, they include a recipe or two on the tag with each jar.  Very handy!
  • Peanut Better products are kosher certified.
  • I have noticed that Peanut Better's products have serious separation anxieties.  On occasion, just stirring in the jar wasn't feasible.  With this jar, I actually removed all of the peanut butter into another bowl to stir in the top layer of oil, and then returned it to the jar.  After I had mixed it the one time, it seemed to stay well blended until the jar was gone!

Where to Purchase: Peanut Better can be purchased directly via their online store.  It is also distributed to grocery stores nationwide, though the Peanut Better store locator seemed to be defunct at the time of writing.
