Sunland Peanut Better Organic Vanilla Cranberry Peanut Butter (Vegan, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free) PDF Print E-mail
Please Note: This brand was formerly known as just "Peanut Better" but it is now sold under the Sunland name, but with the same formulas.

Hands down, my favorite flavored peanut butter of all time!  This thick and creamy peanut butter is blended with the perfect combination of real vanilla and organic sugar.  Bits of dried cranberries throughout add just a hint of flavor and texture.  Our first trial was on plain rice cakes, to get the full flavor effect.  It was a true stand-alone peanut butter, and could easily enhance a whole-wheat bagel or slice of bread for a quick breakfast or snack.

However, where this one really won me over was atop our chocolate cake.  On the Peanut Better jar they recommend the Vanilla Cranberry for a frosting base.  In the name of taste testing, I had two chocolate cake samples.  One with just a touch of almond milk and powdered sugar blended in to make a creamier and sweeter frosting, the other with a straight slathering of the peanut butter.  Both were excellent, but I actually preferred the Vanilla Cranberry Peanut Butter as the frosting itself.  It was just sweet enough, the peanut butter and vanilla went well with the chocolate, and the texture was smooth.

Although my taste buds don’t require as much sugar as some, I think this peanut butter could be a big hit with kids on its own or as a base.  Parents will like that even with the noticeably sweet flavor; a 2 Tablespoon serving has just 6 grams of sugar.

  • Pros: Vegan; Gluten-free; Soy-free; High quality organic ingredients; Low in sugar considering sweetness; Kid friendly; Good versatility
  • Cons:  As an all natural peanut butter, this one requires some good mixing to bring the creaminess out

Recommended For:

  • Frosting
  • A Toast Topper
  • Kids (Big & Small)
