Namaste Foods Say Cheez Pasta Blend (Vegan, Gluten-Free, Nut-Free, Soy-Free) **Top Pick** PDF Print E-mail

~~ 5 Star Selection from Go Dairy Free ~~

This product was chosen by our staff as a top pick for quality and taste.

The package reads, “A delicious cheese flavored pasta blend”, and frankly I couldn’t think of a better way to say it.  Our male taste-tester mumbled “mmm-good” as he horded his plate into the other room.  I loved the unique flavor and substance-rich texture of the all-natural ingredients.    We highly recommend you try the Say Cheez pasta with kids as well.  The classic bright orange color and mild flavor, with enough sea salt to keep it interesting, are sure to please more than a few tummies.  However, don’t try to pass it off as a Kraft replacement right away.  Migrate it in as it’s own cheesy pasta, and add some kid-pleasing ingredients to get them more excited.  Gradually you should be able to toss the boxes of chemical laden cheese powders and pastas.  One bag is enough for four little mouth servings.  For two adults, mix in some vegetables, and chicken (non-vegans of course) and you will have a hearty meal in minutes.    Health wise, none of us could believe that this cheesy dish was completely free of casein, gluten, potato, nuts, soy, and corn!  The ingredients couldn’t be more basic, and include nutritional powerhouses like hemp seed, turmeric, and garlic powder.  We prepared it as recommended with (olive) oil.  On the next time around, I would be curious to experiment with other products in place of the oil, such as shortening, or rice milk for a lower fat alternative.  As an added feature, the primary packaging of Say Cheez is a cutely decorated, environmentally friendly paper bag with a tie down.  It can easily be re-used to bag up tomorrow’s lunch!

  • Pros:  Free from the top allergens; Quick & easy; Well balanced meal; Excellent alternative to an old-time dairy favorite
  • Cons:  Not quite a true “Kraft Macaroni & Cheese” experience for Kids

Recommended For:

  • Kids
  • Carb & Cheese Craving Adults
  • A Meal Helper

I am a carb and cheese craving adult. This sounds great for someone like myself. It also sounds like a good replacement for the diabetics in my family that crave these kinds of foods when they are limited on how often they can have them, depending on their glucose levels. I hope I win the basket to try out all the neat things in it! 8)
