Organicville Olive Oil & Balsamic Organic Vinaigrette (Vegan, Gluten-Free, Nut-Free) PDF Print E-mail

By Alisa Fleming - While all of Organicville’s Vinaigrettes are somewhat thinner than a creamy salad dressing, they do seem to vary in viscosity.  As I should have expected, but didn’t, the Olive Oil & Balsamic ranked as one of the runniest. I accidentally doused my salad right off the bat.

I really didn’t need the extra serving, but I was fortunate that it was a tangy, yet not overly sharp vinaigrette.  Actually, it was quite mild, relying more on the olive oil and fresh herb taste rather than the pure tang of vinegar as some dressings do.  With a more gentle flavor, I wondered if this one would hold up as a marinade... I am still wondering as my bottle is now gone!  We continued to devour it atop our veggie burger salads.  It was really an ideal combination.  I also didn’t get the chance to try out the Penne Tuna Salad recommended on the Organicville website.

Veggie Burger Salads

While I am curious of these applications, I may never trial them with this exact dressing.  Don’t get me wrong, it was good, quite good, but a few of the other Organicville vinaigrettes captured my attention a bit more.  In particular, the Herbs de Provence was much like your typical Olive Oil Vinaigrette, but it bumped up the herbs a notch to leap into one of my top flavor spots.

Nonetheless, if you are seeking a good, basic, all-purpose vinaigrette that tastes (and is) all natural and fresh, then you really can’t go wrong with Organicville’s Olive Oil & Balsamic.

 My Extra Notes & Tips

  • This dressing (as with all Organicville dressings) is vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, all natural, and USDA Organic.
  • While my taste buds weren't sensitive enough to detect it, I was a bit disappointed to discover that the organic extra-virgin olive oil was a few ingredients after the organic expeller-pressed soybean oil.  For an "Olive Oil" title, I would love to see an all olive oil base.
  • Ingredient and nutritional information is available on the Organicville Foods website.

Where to Purchase:  A few of Organicville’s Vinaigrettes, including this one, are available to purchase on Amazon in large, 33.8 ounce bottles.  Otherwise, visit the Organicville website to find a store near you.
