Organicville Organic Ketchup - No Sugar Added (Vegan, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free) PDF Print E-mail

Though I grew up in Oregon, my father’s side of the family originally migrated from Texas.  Okay, way back when they were probably from Europe, but our eating habits growing up reflected Texas.  And in the case of my family, this meant that ketchup was present at nearly every meal, as if it was vital to our health and survival.  To this day my father puts ketchup on his eggs and just about any meat imaginable.  Of course, I now pretend to be disgusted by his habit, having grown into “more sophisticated” taste buds … but in reality, that ketchup always looks pretty darn good.

I know my family isn’t alone, since ketchup ranks as one of the key vegetable sources in the American diet, sad but true.  But wouldn’t it be less sad if that Ketchup actually contained virtuous ingredients?  If it even bordered on healthy?  This dream may now be a reality thanks to Organicville Foods.  I had the good fortune to sample every salad dressing from Organicville and not a one disappointed.  So when they came out with organic ketchup sweetened only with agave nectar, I was immediately sold.

With a nice big squeezable bottle of Organicville Ketchup in my hands, I suddenly felt like French fries.  Of course, not wanting to downgrade healthier ketchup with fried food, I baked the thin slices of Russet in the oven.  Both the French fries and the Ketchup elicited big smiles.  Organicville’s Ketchup is true to its namesake in overall taste and texture, but it is somehow more vibrant.  The agave offers a “sweetened with a touch of honey” flavor that is utterly addicting and surprisingly sweet (even though 1 tablespoon contains just 3g of sugar).

Organicville Organic Ketchup

Everything about this ketchup, from its brilliant red hue to its clean taste, seems to reflect the purity of the ingredients ~ organic tomato puree, organic agave nectar, organic white vinegar, salt, organic onion powder, and organic spices.  Oh yes, and if you haven’t guessed by now, this ketchup is certified organic, vegan, dairy-free, soy-free, and gluten-free and perfect for [veggie] burger barbecues!

Where to Purchase: Organicville products are sold in stores throughout the US and Canada, look for them in natural food stores such as Whole Foods, or in the natural food section of major grocers.  If you have trouble finding the ketchup in stores, it is available online from Amazon.
