The refined flavor of Toby’s Martini Olive Pâté presents a slight twist on their Original version. The addition of green olives adds a pleasant, yet sharp, flavor that overrides the dips cheesiness just a bit. Like the Original, this dip is just a bit chunky, but a lot creamy. Unlike the Original, it is made with egg-less mayonnaise, and therefore vegan in addition to dairy-free. We found the Martini Olive Pâté to be an excellent spread on onion bagels (for a light lunch – my favorite use), sandwiches (as a flavor-packed condiment), and crusty French bread (for the hors'deurves table). The Martini Olive also went over well with our tasters as a dip for veggies, carrots, celery, and cauliflower to name a few. To be honest, I can’t get enough of Toby’s Pâté, whatever the flavor. Nonetheless, it is nice that they have five different varieties to suit my mood and recipes. - Pros: Truly creamy non-dairy dip; Made with organic Non-GMO soybeans; All natural; Vegan; Versatile; Low-fat and no cholesterol
- Cons: Best for those who have a taste for tofu
Recommended For: - Stand-Alone Bread Spread
- Veggie Dip
- Creamy Cravings
- Mediterranean Recipes (in place of sour cream or ricotta)
Where to Buy: - In Stores - Natural food stores in CA, NV, AZ, NM, CO, UT, ID, MT, WA and AK; Special orders can be made. I had much better luck with Wild Oats for Toby's, they carried the full range front and center in the refrigerated section.
