Peeled Snacks - Fig-Sated (Vegan, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free) PDF Print E-mail

A few months back, I had the opportunity to review a new line of snack foods called Peeled Snacks.  These fruit and nut packs take the freshness of packaged foods to a new level, but unfortunately, fresh food can come at a price.  All looked good, except the Fig-Sated fruit and nut blend.  The fruit had not faired well, and wasn’t appealing to say the least.  But the folks at Peeled Snacks jumped right in to save the day.  They sent me a new package along with more of the other selections I enjoyed!  The representative for their company said that the Fig-Sated was her personal favorite, and that I must try it.

Well, I am glad that they sent a new package, as she was right, it was excellent.  Fig-Sated includes apricots, dates, and figs and a fresh-pack with almonds and pistachios. The figs were petite, but soft and full of flavor; not a thing like the tubs of figs from Trader Joe’s which tend to be much more on the dry side.  Because of the modest size and darker shade of the apricots, I expected them to be on the dry side, but I was rewarded with a nice plump texture. The dates were soft, sweet and fresh; practically dessert really! The nuts were fresh, lightly salted, and had a wonderful crunch that surprised me just a bit.  I especially loved the pistachios, which were bursting with flavor.

How something so simple as dried fruit and nuts could capture my attention is beyond me, but Peeled Snacks do seem to stand above the crowd in quality.

Peeled Snacks come in several varieties, and they recently upgraded several of their fruit picks to organic!
