Sesmark All-Natural Multigrain Chips PDF Print E-mail

Alisa Fleming ~ Though I try to avoid the dangerous munchies, once in a while I pick up something to fuel me on our long walks to the grocery stores. A few weeks ago, I splurged on some Sesmark Multigrain Chips that I saw on sale, and oh my heavens, they were so, SO good!

I’ve never been a chip addict since I usually prefer sweets, but this chip-like snack propelled my cravings into the salty side of the snack spectrum. Sesmark chips are like a cross between a puffed snack and a potato chip, lighter than a chip, yet wonderfully crispy.

Corn flour is the first ingredient in Sesmark Multigrain Chips, which surprised me since they don’t taste like corn chips at all. Trust me, I hate corn chips, but love these. The flavor that I purchased was the Roasted Garlic and Herbs, which was a positively delicious and incredibly potent flavor blend. Timid taste buds beware (or go for the original flavor), the garlic is ever-present!

I think the only two drawbacks with these chips, from my personal perspective, is that they contain wheat (my husband is trialing gluten-free at this time) and not all of the flavors are dairy-free, so those with severe milk allergies should be aware of cross-contamination potential. I’m curious if they will make them gluten-free at one point, since wheat flour is the fourth ingredient, and obviously not one of the key grains in these chips (corn, rice, and oat leading the pack).

As for the dairy-free options, all but the Hickory Cheddar variety are made without any dairy ingredients. This includes the Original, Roasted Garlic & Herbs, Buttery Caramel (yes, seriously!), and Cinnamon Sugar.

Dietary Notes: By ingredients, the chips that I reviewed are Vegan, Dairy-Free, Egg-Free, Nut-Free, Peanut-Free, Soy-Free, Low Fat, and Low Sugar, but see the packaging for allergen and manufacturing "may contain" labeling.
