By Barb Nicoletti - In the small town of Amesbury Massachusetts, in the middle of a tiny square among many other small restaurants and cute shops, you will find a quaint little bakery called Hippie Chick Bakery.  The bakery has an array of wonderful baked goods from cookies to gourmet cakes and wedding cakes. Each cupcake is tastefully decorated for the season of the year, and all of the gourmet cakes and wedding cakes are hand created to give your function that special touch.

Hippie Chick Bakery is one of the few true Vegan Bakeries in this area; creating wonderful vegan and gluten free baked goods.  Now, the owner of Hippie Chick Bakery, Amy Mastronardi, has taken the pride and concern of her work even further, as all of her creations are now free of peanuts and tree nuts.  This opens a whole new world up for the Food Allergic.  Finding a bakery that specializes in creating organic, vegan, gluten free, nut free and peanut free products, is nothing short of amazing.  Although, Hippie Chick Bakery specializes in vegan and gluten free cakes, they also create cakes that contain dairy and gluten.  Processing on shared equipment, following strict cleaning procedures, but they cannot guarantee that cross contamination does not occur.  I have always been 100% satisfied with all of the products we have purchased.

The cakes are wonderful, moist and hold up well in traveling.  The flavors of the cake in combination with the dairy free whipped toppings are just marvelous.  Looking at your beautiful cake, you would never guess that it actually gets even better when you slice it and see all of the wonderful layers.  Whipped topping, chocolate cake, vanilla cake and fresh berries between each layer.  Then you take a bite, and the dreaminess continues. Wow.

You can create your own cake, flavor, filling, topping, fruit, no fruit etc, informing Amy what you would like the cake to look like, and she makes the magic comes to life.   Nothing about this bakery is ordinary, and that is displayed in Amy’s work.   Now you would think for the quality and taste of these cakes, that you would have to pay and arm and a leg for a sweet treat of this magnitude.  Well that is not the case here.  These specialty cakes are reasonably priced ranging from $16.50 on up, depending upon the size cake you order.

This bakery is about 40 miles from my home, and we travel to it several times a year to purchase cakes for my children’s birthdays and special holiday occasions.   The bakery now only operates via online orders, but the service, quality and satisfaction still remains.  Requiring only a week’s notice to prepare and plan for your special day these wonderful treats will not disappoint.   I would highly recommend taking a peak at the website, www.hippiechickbakery.com, and viewing the array of wonderfully created gourmet cakes.  You won’t be disappointed.
