This recipe is from my friend Lori at What Runs Lori. She's a personal trainer and an expert in making nutrient-packed smoothies. She proclaimed this recipe "One of the best smoothies I’ve made thus far," crediting the addition of some granola as the icing on the cake! Strawberry Chai Smoothie If you want to make this a little less smoothie and add a little more green, spinach would be the perfect green-of-choice to add in. This recipe is Vegan, Dairy-Free, Egg-Free, Gluten-Free, Peanut-Free, Wheat-Free, optionally Sugar-Free, optionally Soy-Free, and optionally Nut-Free. You can sub your favorite milk alternative for the almond milk (to make it nut-free), and choose your protein powder wisely if you want soy-free and sugar-free. There are many unsweetened hemp and brown rice protein powders on the market. Prep time: 5 min Total time: 5 min Yield: 1 Smoothie Ingredients - 1 cup leftover chai (almond milk + chai mix)
- 1 small frozen banana
- 1/2-1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 scoop protein powder (vanilla or plain), optional
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ice, optional
Cooking Directions - Blend until creamy and smooth.
- Pour into a tall glass and top with sweet and savory granola- like the Paleo People Apple Crisp Granola that I used here.
