Berry Banana Breakfast Smoothie (Vegan, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free) PDF Print E-mail

This recipe was adapted from the True Blue Smoothie in Go Dairy Free: The Guide and Cookbook for Milk Allergies, Lactose Intolerance, and Casein-Free Living

This smoothie is light, but still keeps me going through an entire morning soccer game!  Multiply this recipes for as many servings as you would like.  For some extra vitamins, blend in spinach (fresh or frozen).  You, and your family, won’t taste it one bit, and the deep color of the blueberries hides the green color.

Note: Some brands of rice and nut milks do contain soy lecithin.  If you are interested in utilizing a completely soy free milk alternative, try brands such as Pacific Foods Almond Milk.

Makes 1 large serving

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana, cut into 2 in chunks
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup original almond milk, may use rice or soy milk
  • 1 T flaxseed
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen spinach (optional)

Toss it all in a blender, and blend until smooth.  Add ice to desired consistency.

Gotta love a dairy-free soy-free smoothie! I like your addition of cinnamon. I added your link to today's post on smoothies.
